Susan Crawford

Founder and Director

BA, Grad Dip Teach, Dip A, M Psych (Org), M.A.P.S.

Susan has extensive experience working as a consultant with senior leaders and teams to help build vibrant and optimistic work communities. She is a warm and engaging facilitator whose exceptional interpersonal skills, authenticity and humour allow her to connect easily with diverse audiences. Curious by nature, she brings a love of learning and fun to her work, which drives her enthusiasm and fuels her personal purpose and meaning.

As the Founder and Director of Vicissitude, Susan works with executives, senior leadership teams and frontline leaders, both individually and collectively, to hone strategies and skills that are required to achieve high performance and build engaged and productive workplaces. She is an agile consultant, working across a variety of projects but has particular interests in the connection between culture and leadership, strategic wellbeing initiatives, team cohesion and the active management of conflict within teams.

Susan has coached hundreds of leaders and individuals in the context of leadership development, wellbeing and career planning and is skilled in facilitating personal insights that drive behaviour change. Additionally, Susan has coached teams, facilitated conferences and workshops and delivered planning days, learning retreats and off-sites. She is highly skilled in performance and conflict management and she has partnered with individuals and teams to help them gain insights into their differences and to optimise their effectiveness.

Susan holds a Master of Organisational Psychology from the University of New South Wales, and a Diploma of Arts from University of Sydney. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching. She is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. As such, she brings an evidence base to all of her work, combining insights from research with practical application.

Madeleine has worked as a Consultant at Vicissitude for over four years, where she enjoys working with both individuals and teams to bring about change for the better. Madeleine’s down-to-earth, problem-focused approach combined with strong interpersonal skills and humor equip her well to deal with any challenge thrown her way.

Throughout her university studies, Madeleine has acquired a range of experiences delivering high quality client-centred solutions. Among these are her time spent at PsychPress, where she worked on the development of psychological diagnostic tools and conducted extensive research around best practice in HR, career counselling, and executive coaching. During her Master of Organisational Psychology, Madeleine completed placements in private consultancies, a not-for-profit company focussing on workplace gender equality, and an internal role focussing on culture and employee engagement. She also wrote her second psychology thesis on the topic of trust and sexism in the workplace.

During her time at Vicissitude, Madeleine has developed her skills in coaching and psychometric assessment through the LSI and GSI accreditation program, has designed and co-facilitated numerous workshops, and project managed a range of large-scale operations. Madeleine is energised by the positive impact that her work at Vicissitude has and loves the opportunity to help others realise their potential at work.

Madeleine holds a Master of Organisational Psychology from Deakin University, as well as a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne. She is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. As such, she brings an evidence base to all of her work, combining insights from research with practical application.

Poppy is an adaptable and compassionate consultant with a passion for client experience and development. She enjoys working with a diverse client base, across the employee cycle to navigate change effectively. Poppy has extensive service experience across administrative and operational excellence with a background in health and technology. She combines this with her curious nature and humour to provide a unique problem-solving approach.

During her higher education, Poppy obtained various experiences to provide bespoke, evidence-based solutions that are aligned with client needs. During this period, she spent time at PsychPress working on a screening and assessment tool and designed accessible administrative instructions and reports for various audiences. Throughout her Master in Organisational Psychology, Poppy completed placements in a private consultancy, a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider going through a high-growth phase, and an internal role at a large children’s hospital with a focus on organisational development and culture. She has published her second psychology thesis on student and graduate work readiness and has authored additional papers in this field of research.

Throughout her experience at Vicissitude, Poppy has enjoyed designing and developing unique client-centred solutions with high impact, facilitating numerous workshops, and conducting data analysis to provide a holistic understanding and communicate client insights. She enjoys seeing individuals develop their capability and how this interacts with systems to support sustained growth at an individual, team, and organisational level.

Poppy holds a Master of Organisational Psychology from Deakin University, as well as a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a committee member of the Victorian College of Organisational Psychologists. With this, she enjoys bringing research insights to develop practical solutions in all of her work.
